Myra Mayesh

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in the North Bay Area.  In addition to having a diverse private practice, I have experience working in community mental health clinics, in acute psychiatric settings and in dementia residential care. I managed the Senior Peer Counseling Program at Family Service Agency in Santa Rosa and am currently a social work case manager for a community-based health center.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree from UC Santa Barbara and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Sonoma State University. I completed an internship at the Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic in Santa Rosa  and have specialized training in Issues of Aging, Dementia, Suicide Prevention, Grief Counseling, Domestic Violence, LGBTQ  issues, and Somatic Therapy.

I love Sonoma County and have made it my home for the last ten years.  I am inspired by the beauty of the natural surroundings here and believe that meaning and healing can be found in a multitude of places:  in nature, in relationships, in work, in art, in spiritual practice — and of course, in therapy.
